Transitioning into the new owners of Litchfield Books has already been so much fun, my mom and I are absolutely loving it! I am so thrilled to have this bookstore as my forever career. Owning a family business is so important to my family and I, that’s why you’ll always see my mom, my dad, and sometimes even my husband in the store!
I have been quite busy at the store, and busy with author events, so I haven’t had as much time to read as I normally do. However, here are a few suggestions of what I have been reading lately:

With the New Year off to a great start, I have finally been able to get caught up on my work and on some reading. Where is your favorite spot to read? I find that a nice hot cup of tea and a bubble bath is the perfect set up for me, especially on these cold winter nights! I hardly have the time, but I must admit I have been reading ahead.

The Seven Sisters Series, by Lucinda Riley- An intriguing premise: Six women all adopted as babies from different parts of the world by a wealthy man who owns a large estate in Geneva. After he dies he leaves each of them coordinates from where he adopted them from, giving each daughter the chance to find out more about her own ancestry. Equal parts mystery and dual historical timelines. One of my all time favorite series.

The Rose Code, by Kate Quinn- A novel of historical fiction and mystery, the focus is on three different women who come together to help the British solve German codes sent between their troops and leaders at Bletchley Park. All involved were sworn to secrecy. This novel brings to light a very real time in WWII history. Riveting and full of suspense!

Remarkably Bright Creatures, by Shelby Van Pelt- One of my favorite books OF ALL TIME. A tender story set in a small fishing town in Seattle. A 70-year-old woman befriends an Octopus while working at the local aquarium, a mischievous octopus at that! Her son disappeared off of a boat 30 years ago and Marcellus the Octopus may know more about what happened… Beautifully written.

One of the passengers in the lifeboat records the event in a journal found much later on.
